A race to Remember in Dijon, France

Monday, April 9, 2007

One thing is for sure. You never know where Amanda may be racing next. For example......Dijon, France. Amanda took the trip over the Switzerland, where she met up with the her team, and traveled to France for the Swiss Championship National Road Racing Series.   Racing in the Swiss Pirelli Touring Car Masters Division, armed with a 1970 Alpine Renault A110S.  “The car was a blast! It reminded me of the showroom stock racing back in the States.” With one test day, Amanda set times as fast as any previous driver of the Alpine.

“The track is beautiful! We couldn’t have asked for better weather, and the people are great!” Amanda said after her first qualifying. The race started on Saturday, with Amanda starting in fifth in class. Three laps from the end, the Alpine’s clutch blew to pieces. “A disappointing finish, but we were very happy with our times with the car. The car handled great and was a breeze to drive.”

Amanda’s weekend didn’t end there. Lista Office and Neuhauser Racing asked Amanda if she would drive one of their Formula BMW’s in the Formula Junior division. The car had electrical issues going in, and couldn’t finish the first race. “If I can help them work out the bugs in the car, and race....no problem.” The electrical problem was resolved, and Amanda was able to compete in the race on Sunday, finishing in the top ten. “What a way to spend the weekend! Dijon is a wonderful place and track! I’d like to thank all that came over to say hello. Thanks again to Lista Office for the great ride! I can’t wait to return for another try.”
